Cathy Duncan

On completion of a BA Hons degree in Business Management, Cathy worked in a commercial setting for a leading global brand. Changing her career path in 2000, she undertook a PGCE in Primary Education at Strathclyde University and has since gathered 17 years’ experience working within the education sector. Cathy has worked both as a class teacher across all stages of Primary Education and as a Principal Teacher, leading by example through leadership, mentoring and teaching roles.

Cathy has an excellent awareness of current issues facing educators and young people while demonstrating a passion for children’s learning and development within education. She is committed to continuous professional development, understanding the need to skilfully deploy a range of approaches and innovative resources, to motivate and sustain the participation of all learners and development of staff.

Cathy strongly believes that positive relationships with young people are fundamental aspect of quality teaching and learning. They are central to creating inclusive practices and to fostering meaningful, safe and rich learning environments in all aspects of education.
