Thank you so much for volunteering to collect some recordings from children and young people for the Pivotal Podcast.
We want to give air time to the voices that are often least heard.
We are looking for opinions on behaviour from children who have a strong opinion. It might be a child who has experienced difficulty and has found a new path or a child who vehemently disagrees with the way behaviour is managed. It might be a recording of a child in reflective mood or indeed in the mood to rage at the world.
You can choose if you would like the school/context to be anonymous. We will be guided by you. If the child would rather remain anonymous that is also fine. We would encourage you to be proud of positive stories however.
We would like recording from children of all ages.
It is best if the recordings are between 2 and 5 minutes in length. You can record onto a smart phone and just email the file. Often the microphone on your smartphone will be better than one built into a laptop. If you are talking to the child the phone can just be place on the desk in front of you, there is no need to pass it between you. Try not to prompt or interview the children if at all possible.
The deadline for the recordings is June 10th.
Simply send to firstname.lastname@example.org
We will send a small thank you to the children who take part so please include your school address and your name and role.
Depending on the response the episode (s) will be released later in the Summer Term and into the Autumn. We will let you know when they are ready.
Please don’t send us any recordings unless the parents or legal guardians have given permission for them to be used.
The Pivotal Podcast is a free resource for teachers. There are over 110 episodes and more than 150,000 downloads.
Thank you so much for helping and I look forward to listening to what they come up with.
