Pivotal Training and Conference FAQ’s

“I am coming up to my second year anniversary with Pivotal Education. There has been so much change over the last year, but it has been so satisfying working alongside such a hardworking team who ensure that we continue to spread a positive message. One of the things I enjoy about my role is that everyday is different, and there is always something that needs to be managed and organised.

Our events are extremely interactive and full of practical, interesting and engaging advice, It is also a great place to meet others from the education sector and share best practice. The events range in content and level, from Leading Behaviour Change conferences for Senior Leaders, to Middle Leader training, Pivotal Breakfasts with Paul Dix, practical help for NQT’s and train the trainer Instructor programmes for whole school culture change; there really is training for everyone.

I often get asked similar questions regarding the logistics of our events. As it was my turn to guest write for the blog, I thought it would be really useful to share the common questions I am asked by delegates who attend our varied and exciting events programme. Bookings:

How do I book tickets to go to event run by Pivotal?

You can book tickets for events through our secure website.  Here is the events list: https://pivotaleducation.com/events/list/. If you’re looking for an upcoming event to attend; we’ve got a Leading Behaviour Change conference on 21st March, Birmingham and two Behaviour Breakfasts in April!

Can I cancel my place on an event if I have already purchased a ticket?

If you choose to cancel your place(s) the full course fee will be refunded providing that cancellation is notified a minimum of 14 days before the course date. Cancellations notified between 7 and 14 days before the course will be eligible for a 50% refund. In cases where cancellation is given within 7 days of the course date, no refund will be available. However it is possible to substitute a delegate at any time.If Pivotal Education Limited cancel a course for which you have paid, a full refund will be given. Pivotal Education Limited shall be held Liable for any direct or indirect costs incurred by those registered to attend.

Can I request an invoice to pay for a ticket?

Yes you can. To raise an invoice for an event, select the number of tickets required,  enter the delegate details and it will take you through to a page where you can select a payment option.  For ordering from the shop, simply enter the quantity required and proceed with order as normal until you reach the payment page.

When will I receive information about the event I am attending?

We send out details to delegates a month before the event.

What do I need to do before I arrive?

Depending on the event you book, the answer to this varies. If you are attending one of our conferences, there is nothing you will need to do prior to the event, but if you are attending our Instructor programme you will receive preparation details two weeks before the event with an explanation of any advance preparation.

What do I need to bring with me?

A lot of delegates will bring their laptops to our courses and events to take notes, but this is not compulsory. Delegates will be given a workbook, and writing materials. If you are attending a two day event, I would recommend bringing a swimming costume- some of the hotels we use do have these facilities and many times I have been without and gutted!

Is there a dress code for any of your conferences and training programmes?

No, we say to everyone wear what you feel comfortable in.

What do I do if I have a dietary requirement?

Do let us know. We can accommodate the majority of dietary requirements to suit individual needs.

Do we have to book our own travel?

Yes you will, but we will be able to support you in how to get to the destination.

Do your event locations have parking?

It depends on the location of your event. If the location is in a city centre such as London, then generally there is no parking available. Within your joining details we do provide the link to the venue which contains additional information and directions.
